As Singapore was developing in the 80s, a whole President resigned for cheating on his wife, as such is grossly immoral in SG. Pursuing morals whilst being in need of development isn’t a distortion of anything.

My comment was made on the assumption that all enforcement of morality is done benevolently and reasonably.
