Trump joking about stealing credit for a child's picture is apropos since he regularly steals credit for the accomplishments of Joe Biden and Barack Obama. He's a pathological thief and conman, so even his "jokes" offer insight into his warped psyche. His instinct at all times is to steal. "Biden would use the autopen," Trump told the children as he continued signing drawings. "He'd have an autopen follow him. If it was Joe Biden. He didn't sign— He was incapable of signing his name. So they'd follow him around with a big machine. You know what it was called? An autopen! And he'd have the autopen sign for him. He'd take the paper, hand it to his guys, they'd sign it with an autopen and give it back. Not too good right?" A normal president in this situation would have talked about the drawings themselves, the Easter Bunny, eggs, literally anything other than a fringe MAGA conspiracy obsession. As for the autopen allegations themselves, Trump's own Justice Department investigated and ultimately ruled that there was no case to prosecute. They abandoned the idea altogether. Moving beyond how deeply inappropriate it is for a sitting president to rant about his political enemy to children, Trump's autopen fixation is telling. His presidency has proven to be such an unmitigated, historic failure that he's desperate for anything to make him feel superior to his predecessor. As his own mind devolves into a cloud of dementia, Trump is trying to making himself feel better. It boils down to the sentiment: "Well, at least I sign my own documents." Of course, those documents are uniformly disastrous for the United States and he rarely, if ever, reads them. One need only look at his comments about the presidential pardons he's signed. He often has no idea who the person is or why he signed them. At this point, an autopen would make for a better president than Donald Trump. Please ❤️ and share if you think that Trump has dementia!
