The Barnes United Methodist Church invites you to join us for Ash Wednesday today, February 18, 2026. We will perform the imposition of ashes in the shape of a cross on the forehead from 10am to 12pm and from 5pm to 7 p.m. On Ash Wednesday, Christians receive a cross of blessed ashes on their foreheads to mark the start of Lent, a 40-day season of fasting, prayer, and repentance. The ashes serve as a tangible reminder of human mortality ("Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return") and a call to repentance and conversion. All are welcome! Rev. Dr. Charles R.
