On long timescales (30-250 kyr) Madagascar is eroding at a low pace, with 10Be erosion rates ranging between 2 and 50 mm/kyr. This confirms that subtropical environments, even when characterised by strong relief and steep slopes, can be geomorphically stable over long timepans
