Kristin and I attended the Royal Bermuda Regiment’s 60th anniversary celebration. For six decades, the Regiment has shaped generations of Bermudians and played a vital role in protecting and strengthening our community. We thank all who have served for their dedication to Bermuda.

This week, the Disaster Risk Reduction and Mitigation Team (DRRMT) is hosting key stakeholders at Warwick Camp to develop the National Risk Register (NRR)—a crucial step in identifying and mitigating Bermuda’s most pressing risks, from hurricanes to cyber threats. Through collaboration between Government and the private sector, we are ensuring a safer, more resilient Bermuda.

A $600 bonus is on offer every year for soldiers deemed efficient who pass each of the 6 mandatory annual training tests. Our troops have opportunities for adventure & challenge not otherwise offered on the island, & overseas travel, skills development & organic networking.

Every volunteer soldier who completes recruit camp will receive a sign-on bonus at the end of their first year of service with the #RoyalBermudaRegiment. Soldiers are paid adequately for their time, with rates determined by rank and years served.

As our soldiers will testify, it’s comradery that gets us through the more challenging aspects of training. We’re developing selfless commitment in people that means they put the success of their section before personal triumphs or accolades. #RBR #YourRegiment #JoinUs #Bermuda

After more than a week together, our recruits are deepening their personal connections. Bonds are forming, and these can often last lifetimes. Teamwork, initiative and sometimes patience were tested as the group experienced their first overnight exercise in the field.

Physical fitness is crucial for soldiers & at the #RoyalBermudaRegiment we maintain & boost standards through regular training, anchored by annual tests. Our recruits are entering an unfamiliar environment, living and working alongside people they may never have met before camp.
