Appreciate all the support, was a memorable day
Today was Little Boy Kong’s birthday party, the first one that M (his mother) did not plan or attend. I was excited to see everyone but also slightly dreaded it. Not because of who would be there, but the one person not there. It was always her and I standing there, holding him. She wasn’t a big talker, so I gave the speeches while she smiled at me
Today, when it was time to sing happy birthday, I started talking and thanking everyone for coming. Immediately it all rushed in, I got choked up. Instead of crying, I just said “anyhow, let’s sing happy birthday”
My son had a great time, and so did I. Tons of old and new friends came, really was incredible. Getting the text the offer was accepted during the party was surreal, truly a “nothing ever happens then everything happens” moment
Today was the start of new beginnings for him and I in many ways, and I’m grateful for all of it

It took about four months, multiple offers rejected, but it ended up being the best place I looked at Checked all boxes: - price (didn’t go nuts) - right school district - amount of rooms - yard (long and wide enough for a small par three) - no necessary major repairs right off the bat Patience and positivity paid off Now to the fun part: writing the checks

In the name of oversharing, I am having an incredibly stressful day, sleep deprived after days of a heat wave, battling to save the local habitat for wildlife, and also being bombarded by critical comments and emails about my apparently irresponsible and grossly inappropriate handling of bird over which someone is now threatening to prosecute me under the Animal Welfare Act. Meanwhile, the bird in question is outside, blissfully unaware, and squeaking happily to himself while he wrestles with a worm.

Season 5 of The Bear was great. I literally cried multiple times in episode 7 (“Caramel”) knowing this amazing show was coming to an end after the next episode.
As was the case with season 4, Ebon Moss-Bachrach was once again the star.
Honorable mentions: Oliver Platt and Matty Matheson.
Also, as was the case with season 4, Syd was annoying AF.

Doctors can’t own hospitals because they have a conflict of interest. But insurance companies owning pharmacies, PBMs and doctors couldn’t possibly cause any ethical issues. #txlege
