I’d rather of signed Diaz considering Diaz would’ve came back in the second half and been great. Being a closer in NY is one of the hardest things to do, and he was more than good.

KAT is a better shooter and scorer than Randle but usually less aggressive. Say whatever ya want about Randle…..you never had to worry about his aggressiveness coming into a game. Even when he played with Brunson. Randle scores 24 and helped T’Wolves steal Game 2 on the road.

Luke Weaver had a 1.05 ERA (25.2 IP, 2 HR) with 24 K and 8 BB at the end of May before straining his hamstring Weaver returned less than 3 weeks later and had a 5.31 ERA (39 IP, 8 HR) the rest of the way. Likely came back too soon from injury and messed with his mechanics

This continues to be on the players. Mendoza can’t control the lineup doing absolutely nothing against a bullpen that entered play with the eighth-worst ERA in baseball this season. Other than Lindor’s homer, the offense continues to be this team’s biggest flaw. Mendoza used his bench with urgency tonight, pinch hitting his righties against Banda in the 6th. He shook up the lineup today too, putting Semien in the leadoff spot, riding the hot hand. Mendoza can’t control Devin having a meltdown in the ninth either. He was being aggressive using his closer in a tie game. That’s his best high-leverage arm with the roster the front office built. I understand the frustration 100 percent, but if you’re gonna point fingers, it’s the guys underperforming and not executing above everyone else.
