At the 2024 ABC-ANZORS meeting, IWB hosted a Wikibomb event to create more pages for women in biomechanics on Wikipedia. 9 new pages made + hundreds of edits! intwomenbiomech.org/abc_anzors_wik… 2 more edit-a-thon events in 2025 at ISB (July 27) and ASB (Aug 13). More details coming soon!

#BMES2024 was a success! It was great to see friends and get back to my BME roots, all while being at home in Baltimore!

The updated review criteria and mock review panel session today at #BMES2024 was packed! Lots of good information and questions about the upcoming changes!

Update: the editor went into the system and extended the due date without me having to email them! Thankful for academics that believe we need to take time at the holidays!

Received today: “Dear Dr. Banks, A revised version of [manuscript] was recently submitted…Please try to complete your reviews within 2 weeks.” I get that we want the paper published, but if you take out the holidays that’s 8 business days 🙄

In my meeting with @RyanRoemmich about preparing a grant application today: I keep fluctuating between, “I can do this!” and, “oh my gosh what am I doing? There aren’t enough hours in the day!” So yeah basically I’m in the thick of it 🫠

After a 5 month long streak without falling, I nearly fell into a trash can after rolling my ankle walking in a straight line with nothing in my way. I’m at #asb2023 where I’ve gone to multiple talks about falls and have I learned nothing???? 😂🤣

I had to cancel my trip to #ASB2023 because my 4-month-old has COVID (he’s doing okay!). I’m sad I won’t be able to present my work, but even more sad that I’ll miss the reunion with colleagues and friends. Stay safe out there, everyone! 😷
