Really don't understand why such decisions are always towards making things more stressful for academics!
To minimise review effort ERC could simply have a two-stage **sumbission** and review process:
1. Submit a 2-page B1 + CV -> longlist
2. Longlisted B1s submit B2 (6 pages)
