Is the travel ban to/from South Africa really justified? Should the UK not be looking closer to home? 🤔 The continent (Europe) is surging yet we fear that which is now named! 🤨 #B11529 #NuVariant #COVID19

Tale of 2 ships - Everest Bay departs Cape Town with first fruit for the US, while Star Prima departs Durban for Japan. Thanks USDA's Jeromy McKim, George Fox & Dirk Smit for getting inspections done, and all terminal workers for keeping the wheels of the citrus industry turning

There has been much debate about whether the battle against the Covid-19 crisis or the economy should come first. This debate is misguided and unhelpful. A thread...

This week the Navel Focus Group dropped their predicted southern African export volume for 2019 by 2.4 million cartons (36 000 tons) - now standing at 24.5 million cartons. This is 9% off the original estimate, and the lowest level for the past three years (2018 - 26.7 million)

I hear you, Mme Wendy. However, getting rid of our vocational training was the biggest mistake the country has made. The country struggles to get good welders, plumbers, etc. Not everyone has to be a university graduate.

As we honor Youth Day,let me remind you that out 100 children that start school, about 60 will reach and write matric,37 will pass matric,12 will proceed to University and only 4 will graduate. We have to sort out Basic Education,4 out of 100 is disgraceful!!!

I remember the Southern African citrus industry hitting 1 m tonnes of exports like it was yesterday – In fact it was 2001. It had taken the industry just under 100 years to go from the first exports to this level-some 18 years later the industry has passed the 2 m tonne mark
