Okay. After using Root for most of the day today. Here's my thoughts. TLDR: It's a great alternative that needs a bit of time to grow legs. Will be testing more, but I feel good about it. Pros - Layout is a bit different, but feels VERY Discord-like. - All of Discords major features (Channels, Permissions, Streamer Mode, Game Overlay) are all present and work great - I can have a DM open on the same screen as General chat, with your voice call popped out all on one monitor (Can even have two DMs open at once) - The Official Root Server is already testing apps like Feedback Trackers, Polls and Raid Event Planners (Looks REAL NICE) Cons - Voice Quality is not as good as Discord - Screenshare Quality is 720P @ 30FPS. Needs to be bumped up a bit.

Community is also part of our company's DNA. We hire game devs who are also FPS focused players so that they completely understand the game we’re trying to make. We even review steam playtime in interviews alongside competency. We recently reacquired the studio back from a major publisher and decided to split ownership across a large portion of the team. We playtest the game every day not just for work but because it's fun, we would play this game ourselves if it had been released by another studio. We also believe players are looking for a game like @WARDOGS. You can see how far the team has come since our first playable in Feb 2022.
