The 49th ASOIF General Assembly just admitted World Boxing @RealWorldBoxing as an Associate Member. The inclusion of boxing on the LA28 Olympic sports programme was approved by the IOC Session in March.

World Boxing is pleased to announce the preliminary structure of the 2026 World Boxing Competition Calendar. It outlines 13 key events — from World Boxing Cup stages and Confederation Championships to the U19 Championships, the Commonwealth Games, and the Youth Olympic Games. We’ve also opened the bidding process, giving National Federations a clear opportunity to express their interest in hosting World Boxing events. This is another step forward as we continue to shape a strong and transparent future for Olympic-style boxing. Providing clarity and long-term planning is essential — for boxers, coaches, officials, and the entire boxing community. Now that we have reached 106 Member National Federations, the upcoming event in Liverpool is shaping up to be packed with even more extremely competitive matchups, featuring the top countries in Olympic-style boxing. Today marks a historic milestone for @RealWorldBoxing . With the Executive Board’s approval of 17 new applications, we have officially reached 100 National Federations as members, bringing the total number of countries to 106. I would like to warmly welcome the Boxing Federations of Colombia, Austria, Lebanon, Spain, Mexico, Cuba, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Macau, Mauritius, Chile, Venezuela, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, and the Irish Athletic Boxing Association into the World Boxing family. World Boxing is advancing by leaps and bounds. The addition of Olympic powerhouse Cuba and a transformative sports nation like Saudi Arabia is a testament to this progress. All new National Federations are now eligible to enter teams in the upcoming inaugural World Boxing Elite Men’s and Women’s World Championships this September in Liverpool. I’d like to extend my deepest condolences on the passing of boxing legend Nino Benvenuti. A true Italian boxing icon, Benvenuti was the 1960 Olympic champion and recipient of the prestigious Val Barker Trophy. He retired from Olympic-style boxing with an outstanding 120–0 record before going on to become a three-time world champion in professional boxing. The World Boxing Cup: Feliks Stamm – Warsaw 2025 was a shining example of how Olympic-style boxing events should look. This year marked the 40th edition of the prestigious Feliks Stamm Memorial, and Poland truly honored the legacy of the Father of Polish boxing. The @PolskiZwiazek delivered outstanding organization for everyone involved — athletes, coaches, officials, and fans. The finals at COS Torwar Arena attracted a large and passionate crowd that created an electric atmosphere. It was a true boxing festival — exactly what our sport needs. Congratulations to all the winners and medalists! You’ve done an incredible job.
