I absolutely love @officialeague hats, and they are giving away this one that celebrates Cuban baseball culture and the 1959 International League Championship right before the Cuban Revolution in 1960 forced the team to relocate to the U.S.

Founded in 1954, the Havana Sugar Kings brought Triple-A baseball to Cuba and quickly became one of the most distinctive clubs in the International League. Playing at the iconic Estadio del Cerro, the team blended Cuban baseball culture with the highest level of Minor League competition, drawing passionate crowds and serving as a gateway for Latin American talent to reach the Major Leagues. Backed by Washington Senators scout Joe Cambria, the Sugar Kings helped showcase a generation of Cuban players and captured the International League championship in 1959. Political upheaval following the Cuban Revolution forced the franchise to relocate in 1960, ending Havana’s brief but memorable run in Triple-A baseball, though the Sugar Kings remain a lasting symbol of the country's significance in professional baseball history.

@donaldbryson I’m genuinely interested in a dialogue here. I’m a teacher. Won’t be participating due to life circumstances.
But what do you expect these people to do? With no budget and insurance premium increases they’ve all taken a pay cut. Pair that with inflation and they are hurting.

I am deeply engrained in the travel baseball world, having owned one of the “premier clubs” and now as Executive Director @curve_sports.
Hot Take: travel ball orgs who accumulate teams but are not relationship driven while providing impactful services such as measurable development, parent education, recruiting, & in house data will be irrelevant in 5 years. The arms race for more teams will fizzle as the “Exposure Economy” shrinks and the “Player Development Economy” continues to grow. Sustainable, all inclusive will win.

@M_Gerber17 So much more goes into hitting than mechanics and swing. This is what the majority of even the industry doesn’t understand. Real world experience on approach is what’s missing. Give me 9 guys with solid approaches over 9 guys with nice swings!!

JUCOs are starting to recruit and offer juniors in high school. As they should…
Recruits should know that you can commit (and even sign) to a JUCO and still take offers and sign with an NCAA program.
JUCO is NJCAA. It is not the same sanctioning body as NCAA.
In the transfer portal era, I believe the “duel-commit” process should become more and more prominent.

The Athletic had a good article on the new base coach/coaching box rules & about how it put the base coaches in harms way. No doubt this is true. How about teaching pitchers to not give away pitches? It starts with better self scouting.
