Thanks for keeping our archers safe in the sun! We'll be following the sun safety code at the range as we head into the #heatwaveuk this weekend 😎⛱️

At the Surrey Archery Weekend at @csaa_2015 today. So many understanding the importance of adequate sun protection whilst focused on their sport! Thanks @archerygb for supporting both Sunguarding Sport & the Outdoor Kids Sun Safety Code - the message is getting across

A really important subject especially at the moment with temperatures rising so high. Please take the time to have a look at the sunguarding sport page for information on staying safe whilst enjoying archery this summer.. melanoma-fund.co.uk/sunguarding-sp…

A super day yesterday at our WA720 despite the weather and breezy conditions. Lovely to see so many familiar faces back on the shooting line. Thanks everyone for your support and for making it a great return to archery competition. #archery #competition

We still have some spaces left for our Single WA720 on the 4th July. A great way to get back to competition after the break. Any archery clubs please give this a RT and let anyone know who may be interested

@CCBArchery @v1sharma I’d just love to know the original source text setting this out. From what I’ve read on the period it seems very unlikely that there was much standardisation. In Toxophilus Ascham says the great virtue of an archer is keeping line + length, not speed.

Did you know.. modern archers have 4 minutes to shoot 6 arrows each end during competition. In the battle of Agincourt a skilled archer would be expected to loose between 12 and 15 arrows per minute! 🏹

@stega1958 @v1sharma Good question. Although likely sundials and candle clocks were used then but were not accurate to the minute I expect some kind of average has been assumed.. 👍
