Back in May, Maker Crew members Zsofia & Greta Varga designed letter tiles @CountryDay language specialists to use with students. We laser cut some at school and some at UC's Ground Floor Makerspace over the summer. Makers helping little learners! #WeAreCountryDay

After building fettuccine structures, watching them fail, and learning some basics of structural engineering, @CountryDay Engineering students created and tested new fettuccine structures that met supply & design constraints. Engineering design process in action! #WeAreCountryDay

Busy sticker printing day in the @CountryDay Makerspace! Sophomore Evelyn designed signage, including a menu & updated logo, for the Birdfeeder cart. Ms. DiMatteo's 8th grade English classes designed stickers to promote the books they read this summer. Fantastic! #WeAreCountryDay

Engineering students built structures out of fettuccine and tape to hold packs of cardstock. They had limited supplies and several design constraints. Lots of ah-ha moments during testing with learnings to apply to the second designs next week! @CountryDay #WeAreCountryDay

The @CountryDay InvenTeam presented their invention to the college reps who attended Senior College Night this week. So fun to watch this group of young inventors in action -- they know their stuff and do such a fantastic job answering questions! #WeAreCountryDay

Maker Crew's 2D Design Team leaders Addie & Lucia launched a new student-run 2D design business for @CountryDay faculty & staff. School has not yet started, but these seniors have been busy designing & printing stickers and posters for faculty/staff. Dedication! @WeAreCountryDay

It was Final Project Demo Day in Computer Science 2! All student projects were created with CircuitPython code, except for the AI sorters. Thanks to the students and faculty who stopped by to see the devices. Lots of excitement in the room! @CountryDay #WeAreCountryDay @jmeb96

May sure is a busy month! The #InvenTeam presented at assembly, improved the AI model, created & soldered a new circuit board, printed t-shirt designs, created materials for #EurekaFest2024, 3D printed cases, ate lots of pizza... and studied for AP exams! @CountryDay @LemelsonMIT

Today was the 2nd annual Maker Crew chocolate bar making day! 3D print bar designs --> use vacuum former to make molds --> pour melted chocolate into molds. We even made an outlet cover-shaped chocolate bar! We will miss our Maker Crew seniors🎓🍫#WeAreCountryDay @CountryDay

Computer Science 2 students begin work on their final projects by updating bootloaders, installing CircuitPython, and updating libraries on their microcontrollers. Lots of troubleshooting and ah-ha moments happening! @CountryDay #WeAreCountryDay

A @CountryDay junior, Kevin, used the Makerspace to create almost-life-size cardboard cutouts of a few friends for a project in his video production class. Love the creativity -- can't wait to see the final video! #WeAreCountryDay

Computer Science 2 students trained an AI model to recognize handwritten numbers, tested each other's models, and shared learnings. After training their model, the class learned how a basic neural network's nodes and layers lead to "learning." #WeAreCountryDay @CountryDay
