Prior to this series, the pitching has been great and the offense inconsistent. The bats are getting hot, but the pitching is facing their toughest gauntlet of the season

My biggest concern was how the pitching staff would hold up against the 3 best offenses in the SEC. Through 2 games, it’s gone well. I still think TX is as complete, but their bats are struggling

Still don’t think this is correct.
5-4 would be 17-13 in the SEC. Thats almost running away with a top 8 seed with Auburn’s RPI.
AU likely is looking at 15-15 getting them a top 16 host bid in general.

@Ross_Reed @AU_Barner2010 Nah, not a lock. If we drop the following two series at State and home against UGA, we’re 16-14 at best. And that’s never been a top 8. Last year, AU was only the 2nd SEC team to go 17-13 and be a top 8. UGA did it in 2024. I think it will require 5-4 over the next 9 SEC games.

@PEARatings Does Auburn’s current team profile similarly to the ‘16 Coastal and ‘22 OM teams? Or did those teams find success in a different way that how AU is finding success? The last 28 games of that ‘22 OM, they had a 3.4 ERA and the hitting got hot.
