Liberty, une fillette de 10 ans de Mt. Sterling (Kentucky), est décédée le 20 juillet 2025 par s*icide par pendaison dans sa chambre. Malgré une surveillance très stricte mise en place par sa mère Kayla (thérapie régulière, médicaments sous clé, caméra de surveillance et porte ouverte obligatoire), Liberty a verrouillé sa porte, éteint la caméra, écrit une lettre d’amour à sa maman, puis s’est s*icidée pendant la nuit. Sa mère l’a découverte peu après minuit, a forcé la porte et l’a transportée en urgence à l’hôpital où elle a été déclarée décédée. Liberty luttait contre une dépression profonde et résistante, bien qu’elle apparaisse joyeuse et créative en surface.
