For most of my adult life, from high school onward, I identified as an atheist. I was particularly drawn to critiquing and deconstructing the Abrahamic traditions and their subversions, finding a certain intellectual satisfaction in what I saw as dismantling religious claims. Read all the Richard Dawkins books and all that shit. As I’ve grown older, however, I’ve come to view that posture as both selfish and ultimately corrosive to the broader health of civilization. History makes a compelling case: societies that fully abandon transcendent faith tend to drift toward materialist ideologies that erode social cohesion, often sliding into forms of what we would refer to as communism. The book Lessons of History by Will and Ariel Durant underscores this pattern; no enduring great civilization has sustained itself on atheism alone. Great cultures have always drawn strength from shared sacred narratives, moral frameworks, and a sense of the divine that binds generations. This realization shifted my perspective from the individual level; where intellectual superiority might feel gratifying, to the civilizational one. The well-being of a people, the continuity of culture, and the inheritance we pass to future generations matter far more than any single person’s clever skepticism. Objectively, if I’m honest with myself, I may still technically qualify as an atheist. Yet I no longer feel compelled to announce it. In fact, I’m ashamed of it. It actually turns my stomach to admit that. Doing so feels disrespectful to my ancestors and the profound achievements of the civilizations they built on foundations of faith. Today, I find myself yearning for a deeper spirituality. I hope, in time, to cultivate it, not out of intellectual defeat, but out of a mature recognition that some truths serve the white race better when embraced collectively, even if they remain personally elusive.
