New in JACEP Open: Enhancing healthcare access for an older population: The age‐friendly emergency department The Age-Friendly Emergency Department (AFED) model uses the 4Ms framework—what matters, medications, mentation, and mobility—to optimize care for older adults. It enhances ED infrastructure, clinical policies, and care transitions, addressing safety, cognitive needs, and effective communication. AFEDs improve patient outcomes, reduce hospitalizations, and support clinicians with multidisciplinary collaboration and geriatric care training. Article link in the comments ⬇️
