Take this Premier League title and run, but Arsenal can’t go into next season with a Rice-Zubimendi double pivot. There’s enough evidence now to show that Zubimendi can’t reliably receive and progress the ball under pressure against Premier League pressing. He got away with it earlier in the season because opponents hadn’t figured it out, but now they have, and he’s become a press-trigger, which has led to him avoiding buildup responsibilities. He’s a tier-C defensive midfielder, you have to accept that truth. Next summer, go all out and sign a true buildup-special No. 6.

We started bright, opening them up with quick passing and movement, then around the midpoint of the half we dropped right back and resorted to ineffective long balls. We need to get back to playing football. Calafiori for Hincapie should happen sooner rather than later too.
