As we celebrate Law Enforcement Appreciation Day today, we honor the dedication and commitment of law enforcement professionals who safeguard our communities each day. Thank you to all members of law enforcement for their service and sacrifice.

The #ChicagoPolice Department and @cpdmemorial completed Operation Santa today. This weekend, we joined Santa to visit the homes of our Gold Star Families and catastrophically injured officers. Thank you to all the donors, sponsors and volunteers who made this weekend possible.

As we marked four years since the loss of fallen hero Officer Ella French, we honored her as Honorary Officer Ella French Way was unveiled outside the Leighton Criminal Courthouse yesterday. Ella's mom, Elizabeth French, and her partners, Detective Joshua Blas and Officer Carlos Yanez Jr., were surrounded by support as Ella's street sign was unveiled.
