Another year showing up for an event we always make time for. The Junior Achievement of Chicago Topgolf outing continues to be one we come back to: a good mix of supporting a meaningful cause, connecting with partners, and getting our team together outside of the day-to-day.

Progress at the OPC Athletic Center Material moving, forms coming together and the next phase taking shape with intention. Leadership on site makes the difference. Our foremen show up ready, stay on it throughout the day, and make sure the work is done right the first time.

This week’s toolbox talk was centered on concrete safety. We went over the basics one more time: PPE, awareness, communication, and staying ahead of hazards before and during the work. Not because we have to, but because it’s part of how we operate.

This week, our CEO Rey Rivera actively served on the board of Chicago UNIDOS in Construction, helping bring together owners, developers, and contractors to drive real opportunities for MWVBE firms.

Spring’s here and so is construction season! At Poupard Place, our team is out with Skender Construction placing and finishing concrete, shaping foundations that set the tone for everything that follows. Preparation is done, now we execute with excellence.

Earlier this week, we attended Advocacy Day in Springfield, hosted by The Illinois Utilities Business Diversity Council, a space focused on driving real progress for diverse suppliers across the utilities industry.

Two great conversations this week focused on leadership, growth, and learning from experience. Grateful for spaces that allow us to exchange ideas, build relationships, and continue learning from others in our industry.

Resilience was the theme of today’s State of the Company meeting led by our Hauling team. The session served as a platform to recognize the people who do the work every day — both in front and behind the scenes, showing the kind of resilience that keeps CSI 3000 moving forward.

During Women in Construction Week, Walsh Construction gathered the women on site for a photo with the Women in Construction banner, and we were proud to see a member of our CSI 3000 team in the group.

Concrete buggies move production forward but only when used safely. This week's toolbox talk focused on inspection, proper operation, and staying alert to rollover and struck-by hazards. Small decisions on the jobsite make a big difference.

Leadership is influence, and influence starts with example. It isn’t about a title, a position or performing, it’s about the standard you set and the impact you make. Happy National Leadership Day.
