@nreooww @Joseph_Fasano_ grief, it's implied that the mother has passed and looking out to the ocean reminds the author of her (separately, the character for "mother" 母 is nested within the character for "ocean" 海 which adds another layer of cleverness that can't really be captured in translation)

Got an ad involving generating AI images of yourself and made me wonder who its targeting? Narcissists? And who even thinks gen AI itself is marketable to the average person. No, only way for them is to market something else and hide the fact that you are using AI 😖🤢Disgusting

@daramgaria you dont get this at restaurants - my father explained to me that it was far too simple and "peasant food" for restaurants to have it on the menu but when i was in china, my favorite thing i had was this dish, prepared in a rundown sector of beijing out of a home restaurant

@daramgaria they were always best day of, and i always preferred the eggs to the tomatoes - they were fluffier and packed with all the flavors i adored this dish + a heaping bowl of jasmine rice + a glass of milk to wash it down was my favorite dinner of all time growing up!
