When I was a baby streamer I reached out to a bigger streamer who had raided me and asked them if they'd like to collab on a game we both played (for context I only had a couple hundred followers and they had 2 or 3k). They said yes I was super excited but also really nervous because I had never really collabed with anyone I perceived as 'bigger' so I didn't want to be awkward on their stream. Day of comes and I DM them a few hours prior (we are talking via X) and ask if I need the Vtube studio DLC that lets you put your models together on screen. She said yes and that I'd need to buy it. No problem, bought it even watched a video so I knew how it worked. Collab time comes, I DM asking if we should hop in a discord call or something. She hits me with a 'huh? i'm not streaming tonight' kinda response. I'm confused, ask if maybe I mixed up our dates? She says no that she cancelled her streams for tonight and that I should have seen it in her discord announcements. Mind you, I'm not in her discord never have been. I just said okay and moved on declined ever rescheduling because I respect myself more than that. Now that I've grown this person is always super overtly friendly to me. I doubt they even remember this because I was just some tiny streamer at the time so the collab was probably nothing to them. I can't help but think they would have handled it differently if I were bigger though.
