@kertesz_markX @photrodgraphyd I’m ambivalent. I don’t see Friday as much of a story or “lore” based series, so I can’t see these answers being particularly interesting. I’d much rather see someone take a crack at a new movie.
That said I’m open to being proven wrong, there have been some great horror shows.

Do you ever think about how weird it is that a story written by a man who was venting out the very ugly grief caused by the unfair death of the woman he loved got turned into an attempted franchise?

@kertesz_markX @photrodgraphyd My favorite part of the Texas Chainsaw remake is how, instead of new versions of the family, it instead creates its own new family who get to be iconic in their own right without having to be compared the originals. And they are fantastic, every one of them is memorable.

@kertesz_markX @photrodgraphyd I like Texas Chainsaw a lot. I wish the Michael Bay hyper kinetic editing wouldn’t get in the way of the beautiful cinematography, but it looks great, the performances are great, and it’s different enough from the original that it stands alongside it despite not being as good.

Nothing against it just not the kind of thing I go out of my way to see.

@kertesz_markX @photrodgraphyd Sadly I think Friday just doesn’t play without 80’s grime. The 2000’s sheen and the aggressively annoying characters keep me from enjoying the movie too much. And the climax just doesn’t do much for me.
I don’t hate it but I don’t go back to it often. Wish I liked it more.

When Tom Cruise was cast in Interview with the Vampire, Anne Rice herself bemoaned the casting, thinking he was entirely wrong for the role.
Cruise proceeded to lock in, do his reading and gave one of best performances of his career entirely to prove her wrong. And it worked.
