Austin City Council is proposing raising property taxes by close to 20%. But per the below, ATX spending seems way too high. According to @SaveAustinNow ATX Mayor Watson admits ~50% of increase will go to the [Homeless Industrial Complex].

This tragically illustrates the problem with the failure to punish crime in CA and other Dem-led states. This guy kills 6 passengers in his minivan while driving drunk. Based on his rap sheet, in the 1990s CA, he likely never would’ve been able to do this.

Unlike CA, which has imposed a 1% mental health services surtax on personal incomes above $1 million p.a. since 2005. This has obviously done so much to reduce the population of mentally ill living on the streets of CA cities…Oh wait.

Having recently been in CA, I think one of the most visible signs of CA’s government not representing the typical resident is the non-stop proliferation of bike lanes while removing parking and car lanes. Only 1% of LA County residents commute by bike. So why does this continue?

BTW-- something to remember. Pre-the late 1950's and the Roth test, obscenity prosecutions were common throughout the United States. People went to prison for it. And yet, any American who lived near a city and wanted to view porn could do so. We have the stag films to prove it!

The math is damning. The Senate BBBB adds $ 1 T of deficits vs the House Bill over 10 years. $ 3.25 T vs $ 2.23 T. Both bad but the Senate one much worse For the fiscally conservative Reps (oxymoron ofc) who voted the House BBBB this is political capitulation and a betrayal.

@dilanesper This has its roots in K-12. School children’s feelings are considered sacrosanct and “safety” (i.e., never feeling agitated by other students) is paramount. By the time they get to college, they don’t understand debate and argumentation. 1/

Remember, Fayed, Livni, and Shapiro are experts, and Cornell is an institution of learning. People could learn from what they have to say. Meanwhile the student protesters are ignorant 20 year olds with no life experience. Yet they think people should hear THEM instead.

Shapiro, former U.S. ambassador to Israel, sit down to discuss peace between Palestine and Israel. "Fuck you, war criminals." Looks like public safety officers and support staff are having a helluva time getting out the student protesters. @shannonrwatts Construction in CA needs to change to use more concrete, which is far more fire-resistant. In the developing world, concrete is the #1 building material bc it’s cheap. But trying to do concrete resi in CA is very expensive. CA building codes & policy need to drive the shift.
