Bonus: In addition to the Wencils, a number of accounts purporting to represent the "Foundation for Stockholder Democracy" were also suspended this morning. These accounts started off as Wencils and eventually rebranded themselves as financial advisors.

Was Roslyn "trying" to be a main character? No. If anything, the actions taken by Roslyn dampened engagement- for example, when she locked the replies she shut down a huge spike in traffic to the tweet.

The quote tweet by Keffals recently showed up while I was performing a data analysis of the discourse in an attempt to locate the main amplifiers of the troll brigade in the replies. The timing coincided with a noticable spike in engagement on the third day of the discourse.

Note that most- if not all- of the accounts in this astroturf network appear to be operated by the same individual actor. The network's behavior is a clear violation of Twitter's platform manipulation and spam policies.

Meet "Clement Woo" an account that has been tweeting about their concern for the Asian community in SF ever since changing identity. Prior to the change, the same account was a UK individual named "Harold Givney" who exclusively tweeted anti-immigrant and xenophobic beliefs.
