I’ve always been a “picky” eater. My first memories are of my grandma and mother begging me to eat because I just wouldn’t try food. And in college, I was the same way. Lots of food made me sick, and I was incredibly selective about what I ate. I eventually had a roommate (who I considered a close friend) tell me, “It’s really hard to be your friend and watch you not eat or get sick from eating. I don’t know if I can continue being your friend.” Turns out, I have Celiac Disease. I am convinced my subconscious knew most food was poison to me, which is why I basically lived off of chocolate milk and cheese. I guess the entire point of this post is to say this tweet made me sad. It’s okay to be picky about your food for whatever reason. None of us are perfect, so in the grand scheme of things, it’s okay that one of my many imperfections is being picky about my food.
