If this event for young people had been held in a suitable venue with proper staffing, security, and designated escorts, the outcome could have been entirely different. It’s heartbreaking to see so many of them left out on the streets with no meaningful support or supervision. We’re talking about young people who are already traumatised, simply wanting to enjoy themselves which they are absolutely entitled to, especially in this heat. Social interaction is vital for their development and wellbeing, yet the necessary investment isn’t being made to ensure these spaces are provided safely and responsibly. That was the core message I was trying to get across this could have been prevented with the right planning and resources. @lambeth_council @BrixtonBlog
