I once lost a patient in the ward corridor. She had been referred in, but was wheeled from casualty to the ward against my advice. There was no bed. No oxygen port. Nothing I could use to save her. The sound of a patient gasping for air is something you never forget. It doesn’t fade. It doesn’t leave. It stays with you. We carry this trauma every day because we’ve witnessed things most people never will. We’ve watched patients fight to survive in a system that fails them. There is no “end date” to that kind of trauma. #KenyansDeserveBetter

As Susan Kihika is busy singing Tutam, the Senate Health Committee visited Nakuru Level 5 Hospital, only to find just two doctors serving a daily patient load of over 1,000, with no medicine available. Patients are even required to buy syringes and gloves before they can be attended to. Shame on you Susan!
