Today, the children made banana smoothies using our new Nutribullet. The activity was very well received. The children also labelled their bottles using phonics, supporting early literacy skills alongside practical learning. @CherryGrovePS

In the play dough kitchen the children made their own dough & took on different roles, complete with taking orders! Lots of creativity, teamwork, and fantastic communication through playful learning @CherryGrovePS

Our Reception class had a lovely visit to the local bakery today. The children practised safe walking, polite communication, and purchasing their own treats with the bakers. So much happy, hands-on learning! @CherryGrovePS

Today the children enjoyed observational drawing of plants 🌱They looked closely at shape, colour and detail, developing fine motor skills, careful observation, and early scientific thinking. Learning to slow down, notice more, and record what they see. @CherryGrovePS

Children reading a salt dough recipe phonetically and following it independently. Sounding out words, measuring, mixing, adjusting… then decorating with seeds and beans. Early literacy, maths & science wrapped in hands-on, joyful learning. @CherryGrovePS

Today the children made Christmas baubles. They peeled old crayons, sharpened and collected the wax shavings. Great for fine motor skills! We then filled the baubles & watched the magic of melting happen. Observing changes&asking questions. Real science in action!@CherryGrovePS

Sawing, sticking and creating! 🦌 Our young makers built Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer today using corks, twigs & pom poms. Real tools, real skills, real creativity! @CherryGrovePS

Christmas magic has filled our Reception class! 🎄 Children loved decorating trees and creating their own with loose parts. A special North Pole delivery and our cheeky elf brought lots of excitement, plus name writing for Bob the elf’s report to Santa! @CherryGrovePS

Loads of writing across our provision this week! Our favourite was a child-led sweet shop, created from a tuff tray enhancement. They labelled their 3D sweet jars (gum bulls, jelee beens) So much fun! We are proud of our little writers! @CherryGrovePS

🍊 In EYFS today, the children used hand juicers to make their own orange juice, then created labels for their bottles. A rich writing for a purpose experience supporting fine-motor development, language skills and real-world understanding. @CherryGrovePS

The children LOVED Drawing Club with a twist today! We tried a magical graphite printing trick. We drew the Houses of Parliament, then revealed our art like magic! Finished with colourful fireworks and codes like Pop! Bang! Whizz! @CherryGrovePS
