How did he "push back"?
All he had to do was not sign. They cant make him approve - he has full authority to refuse to sign the bill.
He signed it after having brought it back into the media spotlight, and then wrote about signing it on truth social.
Why would he have talked about it, signed it, and then posted to the world about signing it when he could have just as easily ignored it?

He's under duress to NOT release it from powerful people who want him dead. He is, and has been, fighting against those sorts since the beginning.
"Distracting" is a stupid excuse. He's done what he can do - it's really up to the DOJ at this point. There is more going on in the world than that, so even if he were doing other huge things it wouldn't make a difference in what he has already done. What more can he do at this point than directly sign into law that the FBI release the files (which is what he did)?

@FlipOffFelix Until first half of 2024, the files couldn't be released because they were part of an active investigation.
Biden never promised to release them, likely thought it inappropriate in an election year & was not accused of being in them.
