Quick PSA: 18 mph over the speed limit might feel like a small difference, but speed has a big impact on both reaction time and collision severity. For example: At 35 mph, your car needs about 136 feet to stop (including reaction time). At 53 mph, it's close to 250-300 feet -- more than double. The energy involved in a crash also increases dramatically as speed rises, so collisions at 50+ mph are far more likely to cause serious injury or death than those at lower speeds. While some will say that extra traffic enforcement is a "revenue grab", these operations are grant-funded and DO NOT provide ANY income to the city -- our goal is to reduce crashes and keep people safe. With that in mind, the Sarpy County Traffic Task Force will have additional grant-funded traffic enforcement tomorrow, November 11th. Please slow down, wear your seatbelt, and help keep everyone safe this Veterans Day. #buckleup #slowdown #trafficenforcement #veteransday #sarpycountytraffictaskforce #policingwithpride

Last week, Officer Kustka as well as several @Walmart Papillion employees jumped into action to assist Melissa Kramer during a medical incident -- this included lifesaving CPR and the use of an AED. Melissa was able to walk back into the store yesterday and meet the people who saved her life! #policingwithpride

During this week's Papillion City Council meeting, @dpblack read a proclamation recognizing City Clerk Nicole Brown on earning the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), Inc. IIMC grants the CMC designation only to municipal clerks who complete demanding education requirements and have a record of significant contributions to their local government, community and state. This designation is another example of the City of Papillion’s high-quality staff who are serving our residents each day. Congrats Nicole!
