The most important factor for long term athletic development is fun. More fun leads to better consistency and adherence, which creates better outcomes. If they hate training at age 12, you can bet they're going to be uninspired - or altogether absent - by age 18.

There are so many takeaways and stories I’d like to tell, but I’d summarize it by saying that I don’t think I’ve ever learned more about life than the experiences I had here. I got my ass kicked in a ton of ways and grew in more. Very grateful.

I don’t think I’d really thought much about the impact this place had until I came back today to watch my wife officiate a basketball game and walked over to the baseball field.

Not to be overly nostalgic, but coming back to where I played juco baseball 19 years (holy shit) later, it was a bit of a flood of memories. The 2 years I spent on this field & in that dugout no doubt guided the direction of who I am and where I am today. (First pic from today)
