As we gather today, I hope you take a moment to give thanks to those who have answered the call to teach. Our students and fellow teachers are part of our families, and I am forever grateful to have felt their curiosity, joy, and passion for learning. Whether you’re just beginning your journey or you’re a seasoned educator, we’re all here for the same reason: we are optimists — believing that when we give those things to the next generation, they will make our world a better place. And for that, this Thanksgiving, I am grateful to call you a colleague. 💕

Here are the facts: - Biden immediately declared this tragedy a "major disaster". - Biden has ordered all available federal assets to help with the recovery response. - FEMA has been on the group for days. - FEMA & the SBA will open a Disaster & Business Recovery Center on Maui soon. - The Federal Government has been in constant contract with officials in Hawaii throughout the fires. Stop claiming that because we are spending money in Ukraine that we are unable to help Hawaii. It only shows your ignorance.
