Day 03: Redesigning work with technology. From unconscious thinking to conscious insight through the Ladder of Inference and prioritisation, Fellows explored digital tools, AI, and game-based learning, bringing experimentation, application, and collaboration to the forefront.

It was a pleasure to be with the Prime Minister's Office and SLIDA at the opening of the 5th @CitraLabLK Fellowship Executive Programme 2026 — a space that has, over the years, come to symbolize Sri Lanka’s commitment to reimagining its public service. Before recovery from the economic crisis could fully take root, the country was struck by Cyclone Ditwah, testing our resilience, coordination, and ability to protect the most vulnerable. And now, the escalating global crisis is creating fresh uncertainty in energy markets, food systems, trade flows, and geopolitical stability. Times like this demand a special kind of leadership — leadership that is principled yet flexible; bold yet compassionate; strategic yet deeply human. The Citra Fellowship was created precisely for this moment to further build capabilities to be agile, adaptable, accountable and innovative in times like today. I look forward to interacting with the Citra Fellows and working closely with them in supporting the national reform programms.

Day 02: Seeing the system. Fellows explored futures literacy, design thinking, and stakeholder mapping —building practical tools to better understand complexity and champion public sector excellence. @UNDP @UNDPSriLanka

Day 01 of #CitraFellowship. Fellows explored purpose, reflection, and real-time simulations to strengthen leadership in complexity. Formally opened by @UNDPSriLanka RR @AzusaKubota, PM Sec Mr. Pradeep Saputhanthri & SLIDA DG Vimukthi Janadara.

Day O was all about grounding, connecting, and setting the tone for the journey ahead - from first introductions to forming teams and a shared purpose.

The Citra Fellowship Executive Programme 2026 kicked off today in collab w/ Pres Sec, PMO, SLIDA and @UNDP FutureGov. Now in its fifth iteration, it brings together public sector leaders to reimagine the future of public service. @UNDPSriLanka

Learning is a cycle, not a moment. We are thrilled to have concluded the Training of Trainers for Master Trainers of SLIDA, exploring #AcceleratedLearning emphasising engagement, reflection and application beyond the training room. @UNDP @UNDPSriLanka

Citra convened its Steering Committee last week w/PMO Sec & @UNDPSriLanka. The discussion reflected key achievements, interest for digital & innovation, 2026 priorities incl. #DPI, #Transport, future skills, highlighting shared leadership. @AzusaKubota @Dr_HariniA @UNDPasiapac

Through participatory discussions, issue mapping, and rapid ideation, participants identified key challenges and co-created practical, context-sensitive solutions to improve safety and dignity in public transport. (2/2)

Bringing together MoT, MoWCA and volunteers, Citra with @UNDPSriLanka and @UNFPASriLanka , supported by @CanHCSriLanka facilitated a workshop on preventing sexual harassment in public transport, in partnership with the MoT and in the presence of Hon.@BimalRathnayake (1/2)

Partnering with MoWCA, and with the participation of the Secretary, we brought departments together for a workshop on Bridging Perspectives for Collective Success focused on leadership, teamwork, and citizen-centred public service delivery on Friday. (1/2)

Citra continues to partner with MoT to strengthen delivery with a focus on citizen-centred services. Kicking off the year, Citra led a workshop to prioritise high-impact transport projects for the MoT 2026 Action Plan using its impact–feasibility framework.

Yesterday, we facilitated a co-design workshop for MoDE’s IT Industry Development Advisory Group in charting a strategic roadmap toward Sri Lanka’s $5 billion IT industry revenue target by 2030. (1/2)

Officials were grouped to assess the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic against existing domestic legislation and propose key recommendations and reservations to support Sri Lanka’s ratification process. (3/3)

Over 2,100 respondents from Pettah, Makumbura, Kaduwela, and Kadawatha bus stands shared their views between August 7–11. A total of 2,111 respondents, including passengers, bus drivers, conductors, and bus owners, shared their views. The survey sought to assess public #awareness of the new regulation, perceptions of its effectiveness, and key challenges surrounding implementation. #BuckleUpSriLanka

Safety shouldn’t stop at the #expressway. People are calling for protection on every bus route - because whether the trip is short or long, every journey matters, and every #life matters.
