Yes! Lots of fast water is intriguing, and it makes everyone curious. However, the Swift Current Fire Department want to strongly remind the public that now is not the time to walk about or drive by the creek when it is flooding and where crews are setting up barricades. #SCfire

The "Blue Bridge" is now closed due to rising creek levels. To be helpful please stay away from all low-lying areas around the Swift Current Creek as crews will be putting up barricades throughout the day. #SCfire #SCEMO #CitySC

The Swift Current Fire Department's 2021 stats: 103 fire calls, 360 medical assists, 61 motor vehicle collisions, 6 rescues, 39 hazardous scenes/conditions, 3 fire pit complaints, 105 other calls, for a total call volume of 677. #SCFire

It is that time of year again where the dropping temperatures bring about cold and ice. The Swift Current Fire Department would like to remind everyone to stay away from bodies of water as ice is forming. This includes keeping your pets away from the water edges. #SCFire #CitySC

Keep lookin’ at what you’re cookin’! Carefully monitor food that’s simmering, baking, or roasting. Set a timer to promptly remove it from the oven or stove. #FirePreventionWeek #CitySC

Put a lid on it! Always keep a lid nearby when cooking. If a small grease fire starts, slide the lid over the pan and turn off the burner. #FirePreventionWeek #CitySC

Wear short, close-fitting, or tightly rolled sleeves when cooking. Loose clothing can hang down onto stove burners and catch fire. #FirePreventionWeek #CitySC
