For those watching #WorldCup2022 , @nytimes builds up a very fancy and immersive 3D scene to cover the games, showing how 3D humans can be inferred from a single image, placed in a scene, and rendered from new camera views, with the help of ICON (huggingface.co/spaces/Yuliang…).

The CLIPE 3rd training workshop, on current trends on virtual humans, VR and AR, has been successfully completed. The workshop took place in Barcelona, Spain, between the 27th and 30th of September 2022, organized by Prof. Nuria Pelechano.

In this work, the authors propose an animation framework to generate reactive, real-time character interactions, by adapting biomechanical features such as the muscular stiffness, while they do follow the high-level designer intent and the original motion.

We are happy to announce that the publication by our CLIPE student, @roboonaut, entitled "Generating Upper-Body Motion for Real-Time Characters Making their Way through Dynamic Environments", was presented at #SCA2022 and won the Best Paper Honorable Mention award.

Middle school students who participated in the Young Innovators Camp (11-15 & 25-29 July 2022) at the CYENS Centre of Excellence, had to opportunity to also learn about the CLIPE project, its objectives and actions.
