@LogtalkDotOrg Big time -- efficient and flexible support for JSON, XML and CSV input and output are vital. Thankfully, LPA Prolog has a dedicated string data type which is very helpful (and can act as a buffer which supports read/write predicate access)

Performance do become a concern when ingesting data: JSON, CSV, PDFs, ... here Logtalk/Prolog cannot afford to not be competitive with other programming languages. Also, which backend featured matter most is necessarily app field specific; others will have different experiences.

In my Logtalk contract work, top client requirements on the backend Prolog system: reliability, Unicode support, Java/Python inter-operability, sound testing. Performance is lower in the list. Often hyped features no client cared about: constraints, purity, standards conformance.

@LogtalkDotOrg Interesting - this is very much what LPA has found hence our emphasis on the LPA Intelligence Server, integration with Python/Flask, containerization and automated testing (e.g. VisiRule AutoAudit)
