Kenny Dillingham made it clear after day one of spring ball -- the standard for each player is set. "Whoever you are today, it's gonna bother me if you're different day seven. Those are the guys that are gonna bother me. Those are the guys who are different in the third quarter than they are in the first quarter ... Whatever you are today is the expectation I have for you every day." @DevilsDigest

Coach Fred Edwards, a longtime assistant football coach at Summerville High School, passed away on Monday, March 2nd, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of dedication and service to the Summerville community. Coach Edwards devoted 39 years to the Summerville Green Wave football, golf, and basketball programs. The majority of his career was spent coaching football and serving under head coach John McKissick. Throughout nearly four decades on the sidelines, he helped shape one of the most respected high school football programs in the nation. Known for his steady leadership, tireless work ethic, and genuine care for his players, Coach Edwards influenced generations of young men both on and off the field. He was more than a coach—he was a mentor, role model, and friend to countless athletes and colleagues. His dedication to Summerville football and the impact he made on the lives of his players will be remembered for years to come. A Celebration of Life for Coach Edwards will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 7, at Summerville Baptist Church. The service will be followed by a visitation with the family in the church worship center. All who knew and loved Coach Edwards are welcome to join.
