Now @RyanBroyles is helping develop the next group of Tigers!
TouchdownFridayNight@TDFridayNight

Happy birthday to former Norman, University of Oklahoma and NFL receiver Ryan Broyles, born on this day in 1988 in Oklahoma City. Broyles was an All-District and All-State selection as a defensive back in 2006 after making 73 tackles and six interceptions. He earned The Oklahoman's Big All-City Defensive Player of the Year honor. Broyles also had 44 catches for 908 yards and 20 total touchdowns on offense. He was also a standout track and field and basketball athlete at Norman. He signed with the University of Oklahoma and as a redshirt freshman, he set the freshman record with 141 yards on seven catches in the Sooners' 52-26 win in the 2008 season opener against Cincinnati. Broyles had a freshman record 687 yards and scored six touchdowns in 2008. In 2009, Broyles was named second-team All-Big 12 after catching 76 passes for 964 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was named Sun Bowl MVP after catching 13 passes for 156 yards and three touchdowns against Stanford. He earned first-team All-Big 12 and consensus All-American honors as both a junior and senior. As a junior, he caught 131 passes for 1,622 yards and 14 touchdowns and was in the middle of another great season as a senior before an ACL injury in early November. He still finished his career with the FBS all-time record of 349 receptions and holds the Sooners' all-time record with 4,586 yards and 45 touchdown catches. Broyles was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft and was the team's Rookie of the Year after making 22 catches for 310 yards and two touchdowns. In three seasons with the Lions, Broyles appeared in 21 games, caught 32 passes for 420 yards and two touchdowns. He asked for and was granted his release in 2015. After football, Broyles returned to Norman and has been involved as a real estate developer. Happy birthday Ryan! #tdfn #okpreps @RyanBroyles @nhstigerfb @OU_Football

Mike Leach shares a must-listen postgame message on resilience, adversity, and failure. "Nothing is really, really, really fun unless it's hard. Nothing is really fun unless it's hard." "We've got to embrace that things are gonna be hard. We've got to embrace to be excited when things are hard." Successful people don't fear obstacles - they embrace them. "You gotta embrace to be excited about it being hard and playing extremely hard." "Even if you get way up on somebody, you want to be as hard as you possibly can because you're pushing yourself. And all of a sudden you're making great plays, you're doing things that you've never done before." Growth requires discomfort. You have to be willing to look bad before you get better. Then he ended with one line: "Embrace the fact that it's hard. Never hope that it's easy." If you only chase what's easy, you'll never become great. Embrace the hard because that is where growth, success, and character are built. (🎥 Washington State)

You’re talented… but you’re quiet. And that’s the problem. No voice = no leadership No sound = no power No energy = no impact Everybody wants to be “nice” Everybody wants to “do their thing” That’s not how teams win. Teams talk. Teams connect. Teams bring ENERGY every rep.
