An update to our earlier post:
Orchard Lake Saint Mary's is going to opt-up to Division 2 this week and is expected to be in the D2 Playoffs this season.
OLSM is also looking for a week 5 game.

Lexie smoked Bambi today. Rest easy. She was good - thankfully. Car not so much. Happened on way to first day of conditioning for hoops. A lesser lady would’ve sat out the conditioning - not Lex. Pretty sure she’s the first in the area to get a deer.

We do apologize for the field conditions of both of our fields. Hopefully we hear something from the BOE next Monday at the meeting. We did have a company come out and quote us to repair both fields. That quote has been forwarded to the BOE.

Looks like our pics of the open field day are creating some noise. Just so everyone knows the boys were just shagging balls in the outfield. The infield is unsafe for any ground balls. We as a coaching staff have asked many times to help maintain the infield. Told we cannot use any machinery.

@JohnMclopsid @coachjjayson The @MHSAA will declare that public schools actually won more state titles than private schools. This is because private school don’t have cheerleading and other sports that some public schools do. When you look at the big 3-4 sports, private schools win all too often.

@coachjjayson You are spot on, Coach. It is extremely flawed that public schools have to compete with private schools. Private schools have so much more money and leeway when it comes to recruiting (which public can’t legally do) and it creates an extremely unfair advantage.

I know I may get some heat but private schools should be in their own division.
I feel bad for Troy, a group of Troy kids who go 22-1 but lose to a team with great players from all over metro Detroit. How are public schools supposed to compete with Rice and OLSM?

Thanks to the fans, coaches, parents and most importantly the kids who put it all on the line to battle with guts and heart against a talented Brother Rice team until the end. They brought us 22 wins in a row, a league championship, and lifelong memories. Thank you seniors!

@coach_glynn9 @S_Koski9 @TheDZoneBBall The one thing that I am noticing as a MS teacher/coach is that you really have to recruit your own. Our district loses out on 10-12 kids a year that end up at DLS. I get the idea of wanting to possibly win a state title, which is why they should have private and public champions

@coachrickp1 @TheDZoneBBall I understand that people take advantage of school of choice but that may add 1-2 players to a select few schools. CHSL draws from all over the state to their schools. The MHSAA needs to make a private school state playoff and a public school state playoff.
