This isn’t anger. She’s trying to reach this player’s heart and active her competitive spirit. It’s not uncontrolled emotion from an upset coach. It’s strategic communication to break through a player’s mental/emotional barriers. To move the player, you must move their heart.

@iowalaker6 I will say I have the utmost respect for what officials do, I certainly couldn’t do it. And I completely agree…not inferring anyone is bad.

@Coach_Sahar As an official, some women coaches are some of the worst ones at how they address the officials. Also, some of my favorite coaches are females. And most of my least liked are men. In other words, people are variables. Not all refs are bad, not all coaches are bad.

Been thinking a lot about this lately, Any other female HCs out there feel like there is a double standard when it comes to what we can & cannot say to (male) officials vs our male counterparts? Maybe it’s just me. And if it is…I’ll ‘quiet down.’ - A passionate competitor
