Watching some great hoops this weekend…a lot of talented players. One thing that separates those players is HOW they touch/celebrate after good action. If you’re going to high five, DO IT. I’m not about the limp fish low fives…what’s the point in that? #EverythingMatters 🙌🏽

@iowalaker6 I will say I have the utmost respect for what officials do, I certainly couldn’t do it. And I completely agree…not inferring anyone is bad.

@Coach_Sahar As an official, some women coaches are some of the worst ones at how they address the officials. Also, some of my favorite coaches are females. And most of my least liked are men. In other words, people are variables. Not all refs are bad, not all coaches are bad.

Been thinking a lot about this lately, Any other female HCs out there feel like there is a double standard when it comes to what we can & cannot say to (male) officials vs our male counterparts? Maybe it’s just me. And if it is…I’ll ‘quiet down.’ - A passionate competitor

Coach Scheyer: “One of our standards was do your best. And doing your best wasn’t about playing your best, making the most shots, it’s about giving your best effort, it’s about giving your best attitude, and having your best focus. We don’t play for a score, we play to do our best….It has to come from the players. As a coach you can say whatever you want but at the end of the day your players are the ones that has to own it.” (via @DukeATHLETICS)

“I care less about mistakes and I care more about responses. I don’t care about the mistake that got us there. I care about what we’re going to do next. We talk a lot about mental strength and mental fortitude and the skills that go into that. They’re able to be themselves,” Jamie Morrison @TAMU

Proving others wrong is fun, & short-term. Proving yourself right is everything, & sticks. Play the long-game & keep working to prove yourself right. It’s more than fun, it’s fulfilling.
