NEW: Tampa Bay Rays' Wander Franco found guilty of s*xually abusing a minor after getting approval from the child's mother. Prosecutors say the girl's mother was paid tens of thousands of dollars, and the child was flown by helicopter to his home. Franco will avoid spending any more time in jail as long as he meets certain conditions that were given to him by a Dominican judge, according to Reuters. The girl's mother was served a hefty 10-year prison sentence after being convicted of child s*x trafficking in the Dominican Republic. The relationship took place in the Dominican Republic when the girl was 14 years old. The MLB star signed an 11-year, $182 million contract with the Rays in 2021.
