Ashton Larson was a big part of LSU's future not long ago, but he found himself in the portal late in the process this year. Without a team after the draft, Texas took a chance on the lefty thanks to a connection to assistant Nolan Cain. Having dealt with quad injuries as a sophomore, Larson needed to get healthy in Austin before even thinking about any big time games. Schlossnagle noted how hard he's worked in the buildup process, from fall ball to fighting for ABs in the spring. He didn't even start tonight's game! Now, he's a hero in Austin. A walk-off winner over Oklahoma. Hard not to root for a guy like that.
