Yesterday, I texted our gateman to come and collect his Easter rice.
I told him to come with his plate because I had run out of takeaway packs.
He replied, “Don’t worry ma.”
I was a bit surprised because this is something I always do during festive periods. The only difference this time was the plate.
I didn’t think much of it…
Until my neighbour called me later and said the gateman reported me.
He said I disrespected him, how can I ask a married man to bring a plate like a beggar just to collect food?
I’m honestly still in shock.
It was never that deep for me… I was just trying to share what I had.
But I guess sometimes, what feels like kindness to one person… can feel like disrespect to another.
Did I actually do something wrong?
@mamarolex@TheOnlyKemi just because he is a security man,it means he is worthless abi, asking him to bring a plate for food is not entirely about being disrespectful, but then,it’s having respect for humanity and not treating anyone less of a human,he is not hungry being a security, you got to value him
@TheOnlyKemi No you did not do anything wrong. That’s how I give the security men in my estate food. I ask them to bring their plate. Even if I have take away.
@CojoChief@iamMrMarfo1 You think every lady out there is like the women in your life? Did you really earn the ESQ title or you just kept it there for fun?
