We always ask if the sibling is able to come but for our kids own parties, we always plan a little extra food for this scenario because some people may not think to ask and if they aren't comfortable asking for whatever reason (assumption, social anxiety, oblivious)...it's a non-issue if a couple extra kids show up with their siblings. Worst case, we have extra food after.

My son recently had a birthday party and we invited exactly nine kids from his class because it was almost $50 a head for the facility where we held the party.
One parent showed up with the invited child and an older sibling we hadn’t planned for, and just kind of assumed it was fine for both kids to stay. We didn’t want to make a scene in front of everyone, so we rolled with it, but it did throw off the food, activities, and headcount we had planned.
I understand that childcare logistics can be tricky, but it also felt a little presumptuous. Is it ever okay to bring an extra sibling to a kid’s party without asking first?

Animal Kingdom Lodge honestly might be the best resort on property. It’s just so secluded and a pain to get anywhere you want to go. Which in a weird way is also why it’s so great.
If this resort had a Skyliner or Monorail stop, it would probably be #1.

@NickChaps96 We love Swan & Dolphin. They've gotten a bit more expensive over the last few years but overall, really nice places to stay.

People seem to either forget about or hate on the Swan & Dolphin, but I like them. I’ve stayed at both a couple of times and you can usually get some good deals, and the location is great! You don’t get a lot of Disney touches, but some families might prefer that.
And they have SUPER comfy beds and some solid food options also. And don’t sleep on the Swan Reserve either. My wife and I stayed a night before a cruise a really liked it. 🦢 🐬

@NickChaps96 Taking our oldest to Epic next month and just one day tickets were $633. The two nights at Terra Luna was at least not bad ($284 + $60 for parking), I'm scared about the cost of everything else in the park lol annual passes have truly spoiled us

I know people give Disney a lot of grief for being so expensive, but let’s not act like Universal is cheap by any stretch. I was thinking of doing a few days there in August before my kids go back to school, so I did a price comparison. 4 nights at a resort (Stella Nova at Uni, and Mermaid at AOA) and 3 day park hopper tickets each. No express pass or lightning lane.
And there’s not a huge price difference. Especially considering you can go to 4 parks at Disney and 3 at Universal. So to me it’s kind of a wash?

@crazyparkguy Taking a random picture of someone else's kid and putting it on the internet is a heck of a lot worse than the kid at the bar...and I agree with them not sitting at the bar. It wouldn't feel right to have my two boys sitting there.

I see this a lot at places like Polite Pig. Parents drinking while kids are just sitting there, taking up bar seating that other guests could use.
Same thing at the Wailulu bar at the Poly tower.
Idc if Disney is a family environment. Kids should not be sitting at the bar
