We design campaigns powerful enough to end practices that unfairly hold Black people back, & champion solutions that move us all forward. #UntilJusticeIsReal.

We took out an open letter in the NYT reminding corporations that DEI is a core value, not a trend. Abandoning it harms workers, consumers, and weakens our democracy.
We thank the coalition of over 60 leading organizations who participated. Learn more: colorofchange.org/an-open-letter…

Throughout time, women have fought for a better and more just world for us all. Women, including Black women, have shaped our history, our stories, our cultures and are shaping the future. On #InternationalWomensDay, we give the amazing women championing justice their flowers.

On the anniversary of Bloody Sunday, we honor the demonstrators whose courage helped enshrine the voting rights we have today.
On their behalf, we ask you to tell your Senator: STOP the Save Act!

Tell your Senators and Representatives to Abolish ICE: win.newmode.net/colorofchange/…

This isn't the solution. Abolishing ICE is the solution. ICE should not exist while life-saving programs like Medicare and SNAP that our families need are being gutted.

Our stories should be uplifted during and beyond Black History Month. They deserve to be celebrated year-round. Black communities, Black families, Black children, Black women, Black literature, Black history – our stories are essential.

AI is moving fast. But let’s be real. The way it is being built and deployed is deepening racial inequality and expanding discriminatory digital surveillance in Black communities. Let’s talk about how we push back:

STOP THE VOTER PURGE!
Florida lawmakers are pushing HB991 and SD1334. Both are bills that would require documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote. Let's be clear: This is voter suppression.

We said it at the beginning of the month, and we will say it again as February comes to a close.
We are Black every day. We are just a little louder in February.
Throughout this month, we hope you celebrated Black joy, Black brilliance, and Black love unapologetically and without hesitation. From historic moments on global stages like the Olympics and the Grammys, to the everyday victories happening in our homes, classrooms, boardrooms, and communities- we see you.
We see the organizers.
We see the artists.
We see the educators.
We see the entrepreneurs.
We see the young people becoming Black history in the making.
Our history is not confined to a month. It is living. It is evolving. It is being written in real time.
We are Black with a capital B.
Our stories will live on.
Our impact will endure.
And our joy cannot be erased.
February may be closing, but the celebration continues. Happy Black History Month from Color Of Change! #UntilJusticeIsReal

Never forget- freedom is an American founding value, but Black Americans helped shape its meaning. #UntilJusticeIsReal

It’s that time again. We’re required by law to file our taxes.
Alright then.
But explain why we’re also expected to hand over billions to companies like TurboTax and H&R Block so they can “help” us do paperwork the government already has? We earn the money. The IRS has the data. And somehow we still have to pay a middleman to access our own refund?
Make it make sense.
In 2024, the IRS launched Direct File. A free public option. File directly. No hidden fees. No upsells. But corporate tax prep giants lobbied hard to kill it, and the Trump administration sided with corporate America.
But now, the Direct File Act of 2026 would restore and protect free public options so no future administration can quietly bury it again to protect corporate profits.
So sign the petition! Tell Congress to pass the Direct File Act: act.colorofchange.org/sign/pass-the-…

Recently, we gathered for a powerful roundtable conversation centered on a critical question: What does it mean to protect Black stories right now?
Our goal was clear. Break down what’s happening. Name why the preservation of Black literary and cultural heritage matters. And outline how we can take action to defend representation and storytelling in this moment.
We were honored to be joined by:
- Wade Hudson, Founder of Just Us Books and member of the Black Writers Guild
- Andrew “Sekou” Jackson, member of the Queens Public Library Board of Trustees and Professor of Black Studies, American History, and Cultural Diversity at York College (CUNY).
- Jarvis R. Givens, Professor of Education and African and African American Studies at Harvard University.
The conversation was thoughtfully guided by our moderator, Nadine Smith.
During the roundtable, we officially launched our Stop Silencing Black Stories campaign and collected more than 200 signatures in direct response to coordinated efforts to suppress Black voices, restrict curriculum, and narrow whose stories are deemed worthy of publication and protection.
One member shared feedback that captures exactly why this work matters:
“I appreciated the memories shared. They brought back my own memories from growing up on the south side of Chicago, Illinois in the 60s, 70s and beyond. And singing the National Black Anthem every morning at school and at elementary school graduation. The conversations also brought back the memories of the riots after the assassination of Martin Luther King. My parents writing ‘Black owned’ on their printing shop window to prevent rioters from burning the shop down. Thank you for hosting this.”
That is what storytelling does. It connects generations. It preserves truth. It safeguards identity.
In honor of Black Children’s Book Week, we are asking you to take one concrete step.
Sign the petition and tell corporate publishers: Stop the silencing of Black stories.

We cannot afford to be passive while our history, culture, and imagination are narrowed. Protecting Black stories protects our collective future. #UntilJusticeIsReal
