Congratulations to one of our ex-students, Charntay, who recently competed in the Elite Amateur Boxing Championships. We are delighted to share that the result placed Charntay THIRD in the whole country. It’s been a journey full of hard work and dedication.

Students also visited multiple other fantastic locations, including Reynisfjara Beach, the Skógafoss Waterfall and Gullfoss.

Over Easter, many of CVC's Y11 Geographers visited Iceland to see some of the amazing physical geography the south of Iceland has to offer. A key highlight was our visit and walk on the Sólheimajökull Glacier.

CSF is delighted to announce our next round of Taster Days for Year 10 students. Students from across the local area are invited to attend a day of KS5 style lessons on Thursday 5th June. Please note: CVC Year 10s have an alternative day, which will be communicated separately.

Exciting news! After watching the CSF robotics team at a qualifying tournament and seeing the team's hard work and gracious professionalism, FIRST have nominated CSF as a wild card pick and offered our students a place at the National Championships (June - London).

September 2025 intake update: Following on from our guidance meetings, CSF has now sent out applicant offer information by email (14th March). Our Welcome Day for offer holders will take place on Monday 23rd June (please ‘save the date’).

On Wednesday, CSF celebrated aspects of our cultural diversity. It was great to see people sharing their culture in so many ways, through wearing traditional clothing, to the food which people brought in (all delicious!). It was great to see so many people getting Henna as well!

Well done to all those in the squad, but a particular mention to the 5 girls in Year 11 who joined those in Year 12 and 13. The quarter final awaits, another amazing achievement for CVC/CSF when you consider last season, the girls went all the way to the final.

For those Y11s who have applied to study with us (Sept 2025), you will have received an email from us this week, explaining your next steps. A further message will be sent providing guidance meeting information. It is not too late to contact us regarding places.

We have our Year 11 Christmas dinner today, which has a little more sparkle since pupils are in their last year of the lower school. The whole year group come together to celebrate their achievements this term and look forward to the next two terms. We hope that you all enjoy it!

Every year we support the Christmas Hamper Appeal, which was even more important this year as we’d heard that the local food bank had been struggling to fulfil all the hampers they want to give out. Thank you to everyone’s help and contributions - these are really valued!

The German Exchange are having a great time and have visited the Merkers salt mine. Pupils travelled 800m underground and learned (in German!) about how the mine works. They also visited the 'Kristallgrotte' ('crystal grotto') with the world's biggest salt crystal!

Another early start this morning for our pupils… this trip is for our Year 11 GCSE History pupils who have started their exploration of Munich! Pupils are visiting for the next couple of days to learn about key events to support their GCSE learning of Nazi Germany.

After an early start this morning, the German exchange group have arrived in Bad Hersfeld and have been met by their host families. They are looking forward to a day in a German school tomorrow, and an early night!

Our KS3 MFL pupils have smashed the UK Languagenut competition, finishing 10th in the whole of the UK. This is a particularly impressive achievement as they were competing against KS4 pupils in many other schools. A special congratulations to Jacob who finished 23rd! Well done!
