Community Care Corps

Lisa is the Program Team Lead for Aging Strong in Boise, ID. The Community Care Corps grant has enabled them to create a "volunteer village" that are cross-trained to help in any of the three programs. WATCH her story HERE: vimeo.com/904543450

Rebecca is a volunteer with @sageusa in New York, NY. Her partner had a "friendly visitor' as part of social services. They had such a great relationship that when her partner died, she applied to be a friendly visitor through SAGE.

Sunish receives services from @TheMABVI He lives independently and says that the volunteer services help him with things that technological devices and services for the blind can't do. He's planning to go to Disney World with his daughters. WATCH HERE: vimeo.com/900870433

Shiela volunteers with the Chaperone Program for the @SaintAgnesMD Healthcare Foundation. She connected with the program because she wanted to gain experience in the healthcare field by interacting with patients. This is also a way for her to give back to the community.

Bridget volunteers with the Chaperone Program of the @SaintAgnesMD Foundation. She connected with the program because of her empathy for the seniors and says it gave her an opportunity to give back to the seniors who paved the way for her.

Toya receives services from @OneCommunityNYC's Sharing Network in Brooklyn, NY. She loves the network because it gives her an uplift and she's made many friends there.

Katherine receives services from @OneCommunityNYC in Brooklyn, NY. She says that she became involved through a phone call, which brought her comfort and relief. Through the program, she has made many friends, learned a lot about different people, & got help from the volunteers.

Heidi works in the Caregiving and Aging Department of @Family_Means. Their mission is to strengthen communities through all life stages. vimeo.com/869579316

Rebecca volunteers with @Family_Means in Stillwater, MN. She started volunteering with the Day Out program there in 2011. She says volunteering gives her a sense of purpose. It makes her feel good that she's helping people who need a little extra help in their lives.

Charnora volunteers with @OneCommunityNYC. She says she's always had a passion for working with seniors and understands how important senior programming is.

Judy is part of the Caring Neighbors program at the @PAA_Inc. Through this program, she says she has a lot of joy in her life. Her therapy dog, JB, comes to visit her every other week. "He puts a smile on my face and a smile in my heart," she said.

Megan volunteers with the @WVSOM. She says that we don't always allow ourselves the time to think about if we could be doing better things in our life. "Volunteering gives us that time to focus on others and by doing that, you also learn a great deal about yourself."

The 2023-2024 Community Care Corps application portal closed on July 7th. We are so thrilled by the response to this year’s RFP! The grantees will be announced in August. We look forward to welcoming our next group of grantees in the fall.
